What would I do there? I guess relive my childhood again.

In the 2000s, we had…

1 — flip phones

These were used for their intended purpose—to make phone calls to other people. For those of you who don’t know what they look like, I suggest you Google them…as well as the following things I’m going to mention below. You guys can have your latest iPhones and other high-tech gadgets. I’d rather have the flip phones.

2 — Nintendo

This was one of the best—if not, THE best—video game consoles in the world. You’ll never convince me, otherwise, with new gaming consoles. You can have them. This console came with so many classic games that I used to spend hours playing.

3 — road maps

Before GPS, we had these when we went on road trips to many destinations. I often loved being the navigator and following the roads on the map that coincided with the roads we were on so we could—within reasonable certainty—tell which roads to turn off and which roads to stay on to get to our destination.

4 — NJ Transit trains

Okay—I live in New Jersey and this was the main railroad that ran through much of the state. While they still exist today, the new trains can’t compare to the ones they had in the 2000s.

Today, most of the locomotives look like city buses on the front of them, though a few classic locomotives still exist. Most of the passenger cars nowadays don’t look right. Sure, they may have the latest high-tech equipment to ensure the safety of the passengers who ride them—and, rightfully so—but, I still miss the original trains from the 2000s.
