It creates a feeling of love when he uses the words “tinkling” and “jingling” to describe the bells the reader has feelings of joy and happiness. In the poem Adgar uses different types of bells to create a feeling of love for example he starts the poem of by using Christmas bells to make the reader feel joy and happiness. However in his second stanza he uses wedding bells to bring a different sort of love and happiness. In the last two stanzas the poem changes to a more panicked mood when he starts referring to alarm bells and bells for the diseased, the bells for the diseased also represent sorrow as he is referring to the loss of life.
