Plan it pls and I'm giving 25points I will report if you don't answer it correctly pls it 30 percent of my grade running like planning an essay pls pls pls Without Shoes:
A Harmful Trend
An interesting and unusual trend among athletes has them ditching their
shoes and opting to run barefoot. While this may feel natural and
liberating, it may be risky for the runner. Shoes provide support and protection for the
feet. Without the use of shoes, a runner risks the chance of injury to their feet and their
joints. Before making the decision to go barefoot, a runner should consider the health
and safety factors involved with this approach.
The basic function of shoes is to protect the feet from injury and cold climates. While
running outdoors, an athlete may encounter pebbles, glass, and other debris, along
their path. Stepping on any one of these items in bare feet can cause an injury that may
need medical attention. Shoes also help to keep feet warm during cold weather.
Running barefoot in frigid temperatures may lead to injury and frostbite.
Most athletes are used to running while wearing proper athletic shoes. When they first
switch to running barefoot, their body will need time to adjust. The muscles, tendons,
and ligaments in the legs and feet may initially feel overworked. This could lead to
injuries such as calf strain and Achilles heel pain. Newly bare feet are also easily callused
and blistered. This may cause pain, and it could prevent an athlete from running for a
period of time.
Finally, running barefoot should not be done if you have diabetes or a tingling sensation
in your feet. Diabetics often experience numbness in their feet due to lack of circulation.
If an injury occurs, they may not realize it. If the wound is left untreated, it may become
infected and lead to serious medical problems. Any athlete suffering from diabetes or
tingling in the feet should avoid running barefoot.
While going barefoot may be fun and provide a sense of freedom, it is best to wear
shoes when running. Shoes protect the feet from injury and cold temperatures. They
also help to prevent muscle injury in the feet and legs. Wearing shoes will ensure an
athlete remains on a healthy path to fitness
