Explanation:

I do not understand why Mary Warren, my own housekeeper is being accused of witchcraft. Isn't being a associated with me, a well off farmer enough to keep her out of trouble? She has always been faithful to us until this very day when she leaves a Poppet in our house with a needle sticking through its appendix. The issue with this Poppet being found in our house is that on this same day Abigail claims to have been stuck with a needle, so now everyone is pointing fingers at Mary Warren saying that she must have some evil powers that have allowed her to commit such an act. Part of me does not know whether to believe that this happened by witchcraft or if it was Abigail’s doing to plan this out and stick a needle in the Poppet because Abigail and Mary Warren were both in courtroom earlier today.

           I know that I have not been a good enough husband to Elizabeth these past seven moths since my affair, but what else does she wish for me to do? I cannot tell the town of my horrible sin or else I would be looked down upon as one with a lower social status. I know Abigail is behind these witch accusation, as she is trying to gain attention after I myself fired her after our affair. I do not regret firing her, but I feel that her vengeance for not finding any new work is starting to hurt the town as a whole. I do not know what to do; do I tell the court that I know what Abigail is saying is in fact a hoax? Or do I remain silent and let the witch trials continue in Salem? Not only is all this going on but Elizabeth, my very own wife is being accused for being a witch. I do not believe such nonsense and hopefully no one else will.
