"You know, I usually like to sit in back so that I can steer." Harvey said as he climbed into the front of the canoe. Kevin ignored Harvey because
he knew that Harvey always needed to be in charge. Kevin thought that it
would be good for his brother to hand over control for once. "I mean,
being in front will be good, too," Harvey continued. "I can give you
directions." Kevin rolled his eyes as he pushed the canoe into the river and
climbed in the back
Minutes later, the brothers were rushing through the rapids. Up
front, Harvey was shouting orders, "Left! Right! No, left! No, right!" It was
impossible for Kevin to follow what Harvey wanted, and Kevin was really
starting to regret sitting in back. Harvey screamed for Kevin to turn left, and
Kevin dragged the paddle to head them that direction. Just as he did,
Harvey changed his mind again. Suddenly, the canoe was sliding up a
downed tree in the middle of the river. The canoe zoomed up the trunk
and lodged in the net of branches. Harvey turned back to Kevin and said,
"Nice going." Kevin just shook his head in disbelief
