The story is about Pandora and the box she was given containing diseases and cares. Pandora was only human. Even though she was told to never open the box, it is in her nature to grow more and more curious about something that is forbidden. Notice how the story progresses from her staring and touching the box, just guessing what might be inside, to her opening it just a little. There was no way for her to know this would cause diseases and care to spread all over the world. Pandora is not a villain - nor does the story portray her as such. She is just a curious human who made the mistake of giving in to her curiosity. There is no blame to attribute here. This mistake, like any other, is natural of humankind, and could have been made by anyone.
