'My Favorite Chaperone' is a short story written by Jean Davies Okimoto. The story is about a family who has moved from Kazakhstan to Canada and thr troubles they find settling in the new city.

Nurzhan is the brother of Maya, the narrator. In the short story, after coming to Canada, both the siblings understood the customs of new city quickly and adapted to it, but it took time for their parents.
