John is buying dog food at the store. How does he know how much food is in each of the bags he is purchasing? The United States uses standardized weights and measurements. The store provides a scale for John to use. The man at the store has weighed each of the bags. The company has determined a set weight for each bag.

1) technical language (writen technical volcabulary)

2) ordinary langauge

3) literary language (because it's text with a rich, descriptive vocabulary)

4) scientific texts (includes texts such as medical reports, legal texts, academic journals, etc)

5) informational texts (texts that are used to convey information to readers, such as technical guides, costumer guides, textbooks)

6) poetic texts. because they are essays, short stories, poems, etc.

journalism is the gathering, organizing, and distribution of news -- to include feature stories and commentary -- through the wide variety of print and non-print media outlets. it is not a recent phenomenon, by any means; the earliest reference to a journalistic product comes from rome circa 59 b.c., when news was recorded in a circular called the acta diurna. it enjoyed daily publication and was hung strategically throughout the city for all to read, or for those who were able to read.
