Thinking about Purpose, Audience, Form and Tone Below, are some specific writing tasks for you to complete. You are required to write 400 words for each
question and a 200-word commentary alongside each question.
These commentaries will be essays commenting on your own work; you will be required to outline the
techniques you have used in each text, what effect they have created and why you think they are
effective. You should write these commentaries in third person but the writing tasks can be in whichever
person is more appropriate for the assigned task. The purpose, audience, form and tone for the 400-word
tasks will not be explicitly stated but you should adopt appropriate ones to the task that is being asked of
you and mention what these are and why you have chosen them in your commentaries.
Make sure you remember to include a variation of literary devices, sentence types and paragraph
lengths. You are required to show evidence of PAFT in each.
Use the Point, Evidence, Explain format when analysing your own work in your commentary. Refer back to Unit 1 of this course if you need to.
The below tasks are creative tasks so try and have fun with them! Once you have completed them all submit them to your tutor for marking.
