How does Waverly use invisible strength to gain respect from others?

Her mom teaches her to keep her mouth shut by denying her request for salted plums and telling her to bite back her tongue. Waverly’s mom believes invisible strength means that actions speak louder than words. Waverly decided to go and play chess with the older men in the park when her brothers lost interest in the game. The first few games she lost to these men and threw her pieces onto the ground. She displayed her invisible strength again when she learned not to do this and to accept her loss and learn from it. Soon after she learned from her mistakes, she started winning and then never lost again. During her chess tournaments, Waverly says that she hears the wind speaking to her. It reminds her of the moves and tactics she learned from playing chess in the park with the older men and sometimes it even tells her where she should move next.  Since the wind is invisible, but still powerful, I think this is another example of invisible strength.
