People all over the globe are observing World AIDS Day on December 1, 2006. World AIDS Day was established by the World Health Association in 1988. Every December 1, governments, churches, community organizations, and individuals show their support for the fight against the widespread disease of HIV/AIDS. (HIV is the virus that causes AIDS.)
