Antwon and his sister stepped gingerly down their porch stairs, reaching the driveway with some difficulty. "I can’t believe they didn’t cancel school," Lucy complained.

"It's just a little ice. It'll be gone by noon," Antwon countered, but as he replied, his boots slipped and he went down, landing with a grunt on the curb.

"I'm alright," he muttered, gathering his belongings. He rose slowly and continued walking. His pace was noticeably slower, and he eyed the pavement suspiciously.
