2. Identify contemporary heroes, note their acts of heroism, and reflect on their importance to contemporary culture.

3. Compose a written research statement answering the question, “What is a Modern-Day Hero?” Your statement should be no more than 200 words in length and MUST incorporate examples and evidence from your web quest.

answer: this is not a good thesis statement because a thesis statement is not supposed to have questions in it. a thesis states your position on your topic. a question cannot state anything because it is not a statement. a question is a great lead in to a thesis, but it can't be the thesis.

"fire and ice" is one of robert frost's most popular poems. it was published in december 1920 in harper's magazine and in 1923 in his pulitzer prize−winning book new hampshire. it discusses the end of the world, likening the elemental force of fire with the emotion of desire, and ice with hate.
