school lunch is not always the best or the most filling so it most of the time is just thrown away as for if you bring food from home you know what you have and you know you will like it.

Obesity, diabetes and even preliminary high blood pressure and eventual heart problems can begin with poor nutrition in schools. Additionally, kids eating high-fat, low-nutrition foods are more likely to perform less effectively on academic work at school. As a whole, the packed lunches overall had more calories, fat, saturated fat, sugar, vitamin C and iron than school lunches.
