Check three things that are not part of writing a literary critique for a short story:

summarize the plot briefly
briefly give author's background
develop strengths of minor characters
give strengths and weaknesses
point out examples of style
give detailed plot summary
identify characters
make the conflict clear
keep objective and opinion free
recommend to certain type of reader

check six things you learned about writing the short story:

develop interesting characters
write meaningful dialogue
determine one point of view
plan the plot carefully
make denouement long and detailed
avoid figures of speech
give characters neutral names
revise carefully
develop at least one minor character fully
have a definite theme in mind
