(1) “Come on. (2) Don’t be a baby,” Brandy taunted as I stood facing the Spin-Out, the scariest and most fastest ride at the carnival. (3) My heart sank as I muttered, “It can’t be that bad….” (4) At that moment, a thought popped into my head that caused me to become hesitant and scared. (5) “If I don’t do it, she’ll make fun of me for the rest of my life.” (6) There was no way I was going to allow that to happen. (7) My hands started to shake like maracas, and I gulped down my fear. (8) I push Brandy aside dramatically and stated, “I’m going to do it. (9) I’m going to ride the Spin-Out.”

(10) As I trudged towards my seat, I could feel my palms getting sweaty and my heart starting to race. (11) I climbed in and buckled up. (12) My heart felt like it was going to beat right out of my chest. (13) I peered out of the corner of my eye and saw the man push the button on the machine. (14) Before I knew it, I was being lifted off my feet. (15) “Don’t look down. (16) It’s a long way to the ground,” I muttered to myself. (17) I closed my eyes clutched my hands tightly to the metal bar, and took a deep breath. (18) When I opened my eyes, I was upside down! (19) My heart sank, and I started to shriek. (20) I was spinning faster and faster with every breath I took. (21) After a while, the ride started to gradually slow down, and then it finally came to a stop. (22) As I took my first steps off the ride, I could barely walk without stumbling.

(23) My head was spinning, but I couldn’t get my mind off the fact that I did it! (24) All around me people were laughing. (25) I didn’t even notice. (26) I was too caught up in the fact that I actually rode the Spin-Out. (27) “I’m not such a baby now, huh?” I boasted to Brandy while smiling. (28) As we continued to walk through the carnival, my smile grew even bigger. (29) These few moments will forever be in my mind because I faced my fear and conquered it. (30) I proved to myself and Brandy that I was not scared of a little carnival ride.
