The poem is an unconventional sonnet; it develops a main idea in the first twelve lines, and is capped by a big thought in the final couplet. the poem follows a narrator describing the industriousness of nature’s creatures, preparing for the coming spring. all of creation is at work, but the speaker is sullen as the only creature he can see who finds himself without an occupation.

  power can be perceived as something which can be taken advantage of and abused and can result in tyranny. it also can imply an autocracy. on the other hand power can be viewed as something that should be respected and it is something which has been fairly earned.

To leave the reader thinking and wandering on their own. without a resolution we are clueless to what happens next, and why it does. it may even cause suspension with the reader.
