my family and i sat in the family room, glued to the tv as we watched neil armstrong step onto the surface of the moon.

people across the united states watched his accomplishment unfold on tv. we rode our bikes to the ice cream shop and stood outside without going in.

we waited, hoping to catch my dad before he went home for the day. bicycles have two wheels and two pedals.

tricycles, however, have two pedals and three wheels. i ran as fast as my legs could go, huffing and puffing. i was so close to the finish line when i saw jon cross it first.
