Does the narrator in the great gatsby (nick) redeem himself at the end of the novel when he renounces the lavish lifestyle and returns home?

The narrator in The Great Gatsby reedems himself at the end of the story.

He realizes that there really isn't a place he belongs to, and that's why he decides to go to West.

Note that something has changed inside him, but still there is something that is not resolved.

We could say that after everything that happened, he cannot return home and realizes that he is completely alone since he has lost Gatsby, Daisy and Jordan Baker.

You can see the final reflection made by the narrator marking the great differences that exist between East and West, and all the life experience acquired by him, which leads us to say that he could redeem himself and abandon the lavish lifestyle
