"Around the Family Drum" is a short shorty written by Howard Rainer.

This story is focused on people value family and family traditions. It is told from the point of view of an adult recalling his childhood at his grandfather's home in the village of Taos Pueblo, New Mexico.

The narrator strengthens the power the family drum had, everytime his family gathered to spend some time together and heard the sound of that drum, they all become one voice. One family. One feeling.
