Color in a photo can be helpful in many ways. A photographer may use it to have most of the photo light and gray, and then use bright colors to "pop out" and "stand out". This brings attention to parts that the photographer might want the viewer to pay attention to. It also makes the photo unique and can draw more attention to themselves, boosting their popularity because of their creativity. People tend to keep up to date with photographers that they like; that are unique and creative.
