When you hear thug life what's the first thought to pop in your head? in the book “the hate you give”, it becomes evident from the beginning and later becomes an allegory. in the book an african american male named khalil is shot and killed by police while he is taking his friend starr home from a party. police thought khalil had a weapon but it was really a brush. to tupac’s message and the support of her family starr eventually goes to the police and comes out about what happened to the media but she does not have the support of the entire garden heights. in this essay i will explain how the very meaning grew and blossomed in a young girl named starr heart, how it became more evident and also how its still in society today.
