ethos, logos, and pathos are all persuasive tactics that authors, salesmen, and public speakers use in making arguments. ethos is used as a means of convincing an audience using the authority or credibility of the persuader, a celebrity or anybody in a place of authority. pathos is a way of convincing an audience of an argument by creating an emotional response, sometimes by victimizing another person. logos is a way of persuading an audience with reason, using facts and figures.
