Viewpoint one:
gardening is one of the most relaxing pastimes a person can do. ridding a garden of weeds can feel very fulfilling, and watching life grow from a small seed to a gorgeous flower can be very beautiful. gardening teaches patience because its results are not always immediately visible. children today are spending far too much time indoors and need to feel the health benefits of being outdoors gardening.

viewpoint two:
every saturday, my mother makes me work in the yard. i have to weed all the flower beds in the front yard, and then plant all the seeds and seedlings my mother purchased at the farmer's market during the week. i cannot express to you how unbelievably boring gardening is. i feel like i am wasting my life away and--regardless of my mother's protestations--not learning a single valuable life lesson from this activity.

which best expresses the difference between these two viewpoints?
a) viewpoint two and viewpoint one agree that gardening, while not always fun, teaches valuable life lessons.
b) viewpoint one sees many benefits from gardening, while viewpoint two sees gardening as a complete waste of time.
c) viewpoint two expresses general truths about gardening, while viewpoint one is filled with emotionally expressed personal opinions.
d) viewpoint one believes that gardening does not teach valuable lessons, while viewpoint two sees many life lessons can be learned through gardening.
