How are correlation and causation similar?

Correlation means an equivalent similarity or relationship between two things, people or ideas. On the other hand, causation  refers to something that is caused by something else.

Correlation does not imply causality. What does this mean? Well, let's use the example of heat and ice cream. In this example we note that the correlation between temperatures and ice cream sales is positive and the cause of the increase in quantity sold is heat. However, we cannot in any way say that if we sell more ice cream the temperature of the day will get higher. That is, it cannot be said that the cause of heat is the increase in sales. Which brings us to our conclusion: Correlation does not imply Causality.
