What connections do you see between the development of technology and social changes in society, and how did these events influence the development of science fiction?

Science and technology have constantly evolved over the last century, technological progress allowed the evolution of society and its lifestyle, a clear example of this is the printing press, a long time ago we used to write on stones, then on papyruses, then the printing method was discovered and nowadays everything is digital thanks to computers and the internet.

The same has happened with science, mainly with medicine. Medicine has evolved enormously in the last ten years thanks to new technologies and the evolution of human thought, we no longer believe that all diseases are due to witches or divine punishments but that they are viruses that can be combated through medicine.

This technological and social evolution has been reflected in literature, a clear example of this is the literature of Jules Verne, in 1863 this author told a trip that lasted five weeks traveling by balloon, in this novel Verne imagines that hot air balloons will have engines and that can transport more people, this story inspired Santos Dumont in 1906 to create the first prototype plane.

Another example of how technological and social evolution has influenced science fiction is the theory of teleportation and cloning, these theories are becoming more and more credible and possible and have inspired the genre of science fiction, these theories have been presented through the cinema as in the movie "The Island" or in novels like "Timeline".

The human imagination allows us to create objects that make life easier and more pleasant, thanks to technology and the change of social thought these imaginary objects take more and more shape turning them into realities, many of these innovative ideas are presented through literature in the science fiction genre and then a few years latter it is no longer science fiction but a reality, like airplanes.
