" rubric: developing a thesis. 1. thesis should have your opinion on the given topic. 2. thesis must be stated in your opening paragraph. the reader must immediately know your position on the question before reading the rest of your essay. for full credit on your essays, you must clearly state your position. 3. start with a sentence that grabs the reader's attention - can be from historical background. 4. state thesis. 5.explain what you are going to talk about. 4.do not explain the historical backround -- i fed up on this one a little bit. : / introduction: during wwii an astonishing 70-85 million people were killed, which was about 3% of the world population during 1940. there were many major events that the world despise, and were created by the mentality of ruthless dictators such as mussolini, and adolf hitler. not only dictators, but also included faulty moves by the united states, and other countries such as japan. all of these elements caused wwii to erupt. one very significant nation in wwii was japan. the question now arises, why did japan bomb pearl harbor? there were four main reasons for japan to bomb pearl harbor, embargoing, strict immigration laws, this essay with consist of a thorough analysis of the cause of the pearl harbor bombing, in relation to japan.
