Waldorf education introduces letters and numbers: after age 3 after age 5after age 7after age 2after age 8

Waldorf Education encourages holistic learning of a student's practical, intellectual and artistic skills. The focus is mainly on imagination and creativity. Students are divided in age groups, and each one is supposed to develop certain abilities and skills. Though there are markers of temperament, memory or character that define the starting point for a student's formal education, one biological marker which determines whether a student is ready is the loss of baby teeth. Formal instruction in reading and writing, are therefore introduced at around the age of 7.
