During his journey, John realizes that the so-called "Gods", were human who succumbed to their own poorly managed knowledge. As he returns home, he shares his thoughts with his father, who strictly tells him to stay silent, as too much information can be harming to the people.

Also, by the time the text was written, there was no public knowledge of them.
