In the story No Dogs Bark there is a lot of Imagery.

You could really see this when the story said "When the trembling seized him, his feet dug into his father's flanks like spurs." With this you could image in your head the actions of Ignacio and what they were like. Another example is when they described him shaking the fathers neck as it were a "rattle". This also makes it easier for the reader to understand and imagine what the author intends to make the characters feel or do.

No dogs barking also known as Don't you hear the dogs barking is a short story by Juan Rulfo. It is a story about a father who carries his wounded son; looking for a help. The story takes place at night time which symbolizes failed relationship between a father and a son in the lights of father's discussion of his child's future. There is also symbolism in the title for the story and the barking of the dogs also represents the failure of the relationship between the father and son when the former discusses his wife and how things could have been.
