Brass is an alloy of Cu and Zn. You wish to manufacture a cylindrical brass rod having a minimum tensile strength of 450 MPa, a ductility of at least 13%EL, and a final diameter of 12 mm. Brass rod stock is available that has previously been cold worked 30% to achieve a diameter of 20 mm. Using the information available in your textbook, describe the procedure (e. g. additional cold working or heat treatments) you would follow starting with this rod stock to obtain a brass rod with the desired final properties and dimensions. Assume that brass experiences cracking at 65%CW. If you have to use a heat treatment, remember to recommend the annealing time and temperature.
