You are an engineer working in a team towards designing a nozzle. The nozzle inlet has a diameter of 8.5 inches, and the nozzle exit diameter is 4 inches. As the nozzle testing team, you are conducting experiments to characterize the nozzle. Your task is to flow air through the nozzle and measure the air velocity at the exit as a function of air temperature at the exit. In order to perform the analysis, you should execute the following procedure: • With the inlet velocity of air being 1 m/s, and knowing that the atmospheric pressure and ambient temperature (inlet air temperature) are 101.325 kPa and 298 K, estimate the exit air temperature for the perfectly functioning nozzle • Change the inlet velocity to 2 m/s with all other conditions remaining the same. Estimate the exit air temperature. • Evaluate the exit air temperature varying the inlet velocity in steps of 1 m/s through 10 m/s. • Plot the exit temperature (on y axis) as a function of inlet velocity (on x axis)
