I have always maintained that in relation to cats, eating makes them sleepy and sleepingmakes them hungry. This is almost always the case. Sometimes they are playful. If a cat is asleep, the only thing that will wake them up is if you call them to eat. Otherwise, they will ignore you. Once a cat eats, she can beplayful. When a cat is playful, she can either eat or sleep. If a cat is eating, it will eat more (but still ignore), play or go to sleep. Implement the three cat states: asleep, hungry, and playful.
