The administration and faculty at Cal Poly have thought long and hard about their admission criteria. They have decided to forget about activities, athletics, parents who are alumni, interviews, recommendations, etc. in deciding which high school students should be admitted. CP is going to decide admission strictly on academics. Only standardized test scores and grades will count. Applicants will not have to write essays. All they will have to submit are five numbers:. three test scores (Critical Reading, Mathematics, and Writing SAT scores), rank in graduating class, and number of students in graduating class. SAT scores always range from 200 to 800.
