If it is wireless, try resetting the computer/laptop's bluetooth or if its a mac, go to divice connection settings and restart that. or you could turn off the mouse and turn it back on. 

Iagree that it can and is used as a cheating agent but there are people on here that use it properly. i myself will not answer a question if i know it’s for an exam. i know i can’t always tell and i’m sure i’ve people on exam questions on accident but i still feel like i some people. it’s free and there are some really great people on here providing answers and asking excellent questions and truly use this site as it was designed. all i can say is you can control how you behave and the manner you use the site and that’s about it. i do understand your gripe though as it’s one many of us share. use it how it’s intended and i believe it has great potential. cheers!
