Assume that there are 10 billion nerve cells (called neurons) in a human brain. Each neuron is always in one of two possible states (say, on oroff). The state of the brain is given by the statesof all the neurons. Assuming 210≈ 103, calculate the number of possible states of the brain in powers of 10. Compare that with the number of atoms in the universe estimated to be muchless than 10500.
