Kevlar is a synthetic polymer that was marketed for the first time in 1971. it is difficult to cut and does not shrink when exposed to cold temperature. it will not rust or corrode, and it can be immersed in water without being affected. kevlar has low chemical reactivity and is an insulator. it is flame resistant and will not melt or soften at high temperatures. how could this negatively affect society? a) it will not chemically react to acid rain like many other materials. b) tire companies will not sell as many tires since they would not fail as easily. c) it would be more difficult and costly to dispose since it does not naturally break down easily. d) bullets will no longer be able to penetrate materials made of kevlar as easily as other materials.
