How does the speed and mass of an object affect the amount of kinetic ebergu abd object prossesses

In chemistry, the SI unit of energy is the Joule, whose fundamental units are Kg·m²/s²
Kinetic energy is found using the equation KE = 1/2 MV², where M= mass (in Kg) and V= velocity (in m/s)be sure to always have the units correct before calculating. 
From the equation, mass is proportional to KE...if you double the mass in a system, the KE would also double.
However, KE is proportional to the square of the velocity in a system...if you double the velocity in a system, the KE increases by a factor of 4 (2²).
