Does the law of conservation of energy, law of conservation of matter, or neither apply to an isolated system?

I said neither applies to an open system, the law of conservation of energy applies to an isolated system, and the law of conservation of matter applies to a closed system. I dont like thats right but i need someone to tell me. please!
