Estimate the total vaporization rate in the process tank and concentration of vapor that resulted from the hydrogen sulfide filling (in ppm and mg/m3 ). Show the contributions from evaporation and displaced air. Assume ideal mixing, splash filling, a ventilation rate of 150m3 /min. The tank holds 1,200 gallons of hydrogen sulfide and is expected to be half filled over the span of 3 hours. The diameter of the filling line going into the tank is 1.5 inch. Take K0 for water to be 0.8 cm/s. Discuss your concentration result with respect to accepted exposure limits for hydrogen sulfide.
