Activity
In this activity, you will open the gas properties simulation C and follow the instructions provided with each question below.
Part A
Using the controls along the right side of the simulation, under "Options," check the second box to select the temperature of the new particles.
Then move the slider at the bottom to its lowest setting (50 K). Next, choose temperature as your constant parameter at the top. In the "Gas in
Chamber" box, add "light species" particles until about 50 are in the box. Pay careful attention to how the particles move. Finally, add about 50
"heavy species" particles to the box, paying attention to how the heavier particles move. Write your observations on how particles of different
masses move.
