The assumption that was made at the start was that all the heat released by the burning hydrocarbon was absorbed by the water. This, of course, is an erroneous assumption. Since we know that some heat is actually lost to the surroundings, is the value that we calculated in part b (the heat of combustion in KJ/mole of) higher or lower than the true heat of combustion. Justify.
