D. Modern landfills are now lined with a layer of clay and plastic to keep waste, including any toxic waste, from leaking into the soil; in addition, the landfill is covered with
successive layers of soil, which is compacted. All this reduces the amount of air and
water that reaches the material in the landfill. How might this affect the decomposers in
the landfill and the rate of decomposition?

Please help thank you!
