Compare and contrast microwaves with visible light using wavelength, frequency, and energy.

Electromagnetic wave is defined as the wave which is associated with both electrical and magnetic component associated with them.

The Electromagnetic spectrum involves gamma rays , X rays, ultra violet rays, visible rays, infrared rays, micro waves and radio waves which are arranged in order of increasing wavelength and decreasing frequency.  

The relationship between wavelength and frequency of the wave follows the equation:

= wavelength of the wave

h = plank's constant

From the above relations, it is visible that wavelength and frequency follow inverse relation. The energy and frequency follow direct relation.

Thus both microwaves and visible rays are electromagnetic waves. Microwaves have higher wavelength than visible rays. Microwaves have lower frequency than visible rays. Thus microwaves have lower energy than visible rays.

as per the hunds rule:

1. electrons tend to avoid being in the same orbital as per as practicable.

2. electrons in different orbitals of the same energy will have their spin parallel.

this can be illustrated from the multiplicity of the orbitals of the atom. as there are four electrons in the p orbital and p orbital has 3 sub-shells. the electrons can be fed in different ways as shown in the figure but the correct orbital diagram will be as per the hunds rule.
