Using mole = mass ÷ molar mass, to determine the number of grams.

Molar Mass of AlCl3 = 27 + 35.5(3)

= 27 + 106.5

= 133.5g/mol

Using mole = mass/molar mass

Mass = molar mass × mole

Mass = 133.5 × 8.6

Mass = 1148.1

Mass of AlCl3 = 1148 grams
