Propane is burned in a furnace using air as an oxygen source. For this question we will assume that air is 20% O2 and 80% N2. The flow rate of the air provides a 60% fractional excess of oxygen which allows for complete consumption of the propane. The inlet feed of air and propane to the furnace is at a temperature of 45 [C]. Assume a propane flow rate of 1 mol/min and answer the following questions. Required:
a. Taking a basis of 100 mol C3H8, find amount of air fed at 25% excess.
b. Find the amount (moles) of stack gas.
c. Find the composition of CO2.

Sulfur dioxide and oxygen react to form sulfur trioxide during one of the key steps in sulfuric acid synthesis. an industrial chemist studying this reaction fills a 25.0l tank with 4.5 mol of sulfur dioxide gas and 4.5 mol of oxygen gas at 30.°c. he then raises the temperature, and when the mixture has come to equilibrium measures the amount of sulfur trioxide gas to be 1.4 mol. calculate the concentration equilibrium constant for the reaction of sulfur dioxide and oxygen at the final temperature of the mixture. round your answer to 2 significant digits.
