There are three types of soil - sand, silt, and clay. Sand is coarse and gritty. Pieces of sand are large. Clay is fine and silky. Pieces of clay are tiny. Silt is in between these two. Soil can be made up of different mixtures of sand, silt, and clay. Types of Soil Sand Clay Silt
