Assume you have a species X- that is oxidized with S2O82- according to reaction (1). Like you did in lab, you will add thiosulfate to "quench" the product until a specific concentration is produced (reaction 2). Once the thiosulfate is gone, the product will react with Z (aq) to produce a green colored complex. Reactants were added according to the table below. Each mixture contained 15.0 mL of the 0.0015 M Na2S2O3 solution and 3 drops of the 2% Z solution. Lastly, sufficient volumes of the counterion salt solutions were added for a total volume of 90.0 mL. The temperature was 25 °C, and the measured time is shown below.
