In 1951, fragments of charcoal from the excavation of the cave were analyzed. The charcoal sample had a specific activity of 2.34 d/min*g. In 2002, a new radiocarbon analysis on a reindeer antler baton was performed. The antler sample had a specific activity of 1.56 d/min*g. The ratio of 12C/14C for living organisms results in a specific activity of 15.3 d/min*g. The half-life for 14C is ~5730 years. Calculate the age that was determined for both the 1951 and the 2002 analysis. Please show your work.
