Anabelle has noticed that her strawberry plants haven't produced any strawberries yet this year.
she would like to find out why. she has a few ideas. perhaps the strawberries aren't getting
enough sunlight, food or water. the amount of sunlight, food and water are all variables that may
affect the growth of her strawberries. however, if she changes all of these factors at once, she
won't know which of these factors are or hurting her strawberry production. in order to
design a fair test, she must select a single variable to test. she decides to focus on a single
question: how does the amount of water that a strawberry plant is given affect strawberry
production? what is the independent variable in this experiment? what is the dependent
variable?
